As the clock struck midnight and the year 2016 began, a watch-night was held at our church, during which many of our youth were baptized. For them, this day symbolized not only the new year, but a new beginning in their walk with Christ.
After the service on Sunday, a group of the youth went to the Waterfront park. They got to see the sunset and crossed the walking bridge that spans the Ohio River to the state of Indiana. In the process they saw some of downtown Louisville's scenic sites as the bridge was lit up with colorful lights after dark. They even ran into fellow believers from Jeffersonville!
A member of our congregation welcomed the youth to their home and had a barbecue. They played with a ball and many simply sat and fellowshipped with one another.
Return to the walking bridge.
Congratulations to four of our youth who graduated from high school on this day! Chantal, Rehema, Innocent and last but not least, Khalis.
And two days later, we celebrated the graduation with a reception at church. Barbecue and all.
